Arthanareeswarar Temple Puja - Remedy For Naga Dhosa
 

Arthanareeswarar is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Arthanareeswarar Hills, Tiruchengode, Tamilnadu. The Temple is situated in a hill in Tiruchengode. The hill is believed as Lingam and Nandhi is placed before it. The temple is around thousand years old. Lord Arthanareeswarar has a unique form here, which combines half male and half female form. The Lord Arthanareeswarar is also known as Lord Madhorupagar and Lord Ammayappan. It is claimed that this rare posture of the Lord Shiva as prime deity can be found only in this temple. The hill temple can be reached by 1206 steps. Lord Ardhanareeswarar is one of the sixty four manifestations of Lord Shiva, representing the unity of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati is enshrined in this revered hill temple of Great significance. This temple is regarded as the fourth of the seven Devara Stalams in the Kongu Region of Tamil Nadu.
 

Architecture Of This Temple
 

The temple has a traditional South Indian style, with features of a five-tier architecture, with delightful entrance called 'Rajagopuram'. The compound wall of the temple is two sixty feet length east to west and one seventy feet length north to south. The compound wall with white colour and red stripes identify the location of the temple while coming in the road path.
 

The main shrine is Lord Shiva also known as Lord Maathoru Paagar and the Goddess his consort is known Baagampiriyaalammai. The image of the main deity is six feet in height, the right half of the image as male and left half of the image as female. Hence the main deity is also known as Lord Ardhanareeswarar.
 

Features Of This Temple

 

The special feature of the festival is there are four car chariots. The first of Lord Vinayaka, the second of Lord Sengottuvelavar, the third is Lord Arthanareeswara and the fourth of Lord Aadhikesava perumal.

 

Temple Festival

 

Sengottuvelavar Car Festival known as Vaigasi Visakam (Celebrated during the Tamil month of Vaikasi). The Festival is celebrated for fiveteen days, with separate cars carrying Sengottuvelavar. This festival is very auspicious among the nearby surrounding towns and villages.

The Arthanareeswarar temple is which serves as a remedy for Naga dosha, Ragu dosha, Kala Sarpha dosha and Kalathira dosha. Couples who want to live very bondingly come and Devotees. It is said to be very beneficial if one comes around the hil,where the temple is situated on Full moon day as it is believed that it gives the benefit of coming around Kailayam and Sri Vaigundam. A Sixty feet Naga idol is placed on rock here and Devotees offer to remove all kinds of Naga dosha. This is one of the two temples in Tamilnadu having Lord Shiva and Goddess Sakthi as one in the form of sri arthanareeswarar temple.

Temple Puja : Kala santi Puja at 8.00 am, Uchi Kala Puja at 12.00 AM, Sayarachai Pooja at 5.00 PM.
