Kuberapureeswarar Temple Puja - Endows With All Round Prosperity in Life
Kuberapureeswarar Temple in Thanjavur is an ancient temple that houses Lord Shiva who blessed Lord Kubera with abundance of wealth when he lost his kingdom and treasures to his brother demon king Ravana. Hence he came to be known by that name and also got the moniker Thanjapureeswarar, the Lord who offers asylum to those who surrender to Him. Goddess Anandavalli, Ganesha, Nandi, Lord Dakshinamurthi, Lord Nataraja, Lord Brahma and Goddess Durga are also enshrined here.  Also other deites such as Goddess Saraswathi, Lord Panchamukha Anjaneyar, Lord Ardhanareeswarar, Lord Kubera, Lord Ayyappan are also found here. A puja in this temple, especially during Diwali, is special because it bestows blessings of all round prosperity and wealth. Presiding deity of the temple is Lord Kuberapureeswarar and consorts with Goddess Anandhavalli. The temple is considered as Devara Vaippu Sthalam as Devaram Hymns had a mention about this temple.
