Onam 2020 - Usher in Prosperity, Hope & Joy with Divine Blessings of Lord Vishnu

The Malayalam month of Chingam brings plenty of hope and assurance to the people all over the world. Onam, the festival of prosperity is celebrated during this time with great joy and fervour. It is a ten day festival which begins on Hastham star and concludes on Thiruvonam star which marks the day of the festival. 
 

The festival is celebrated by the people of Kerala as they believe that their beloved king Mahabali would visit them and grant all their wishes. The people decorate their homes with flowers on the front yard, prepare a tasty sadya (a full meal with many accompaniments and sweets) and relish it on the day. Vedicfolks is celebrating this grand fest on August 31, 2020 with remarkable ceremonies to usher in contentment and prosperity. Devotees fast on the day, recite Vishnu Sahasranamam, perform rituals like Dasavatara homa to invoke the supreme power to seek his blessings for removing impediments in their life.

MATHSYA AVATAR

This is the first of all incarnations. As the name refers, the Lord took the form of mathsya, a fish, to protect the Vedas, the fauna and humanity from a massive deluge at the end of Satyayuga.
