Mahashivaratri, takes place in the lunar month of Magha / Phalgun and this is the night when the crescent moon is at its finest, just before the phase of the new moon. This highly auspicious night carries the blessings of a great boon of Lord Shiva bestowed for the benefits of all. The boon is that on this night, the power of each repetition of OM NAMAH SHIVAYA is magnified a thousand fold.






The Legend of Maha Shivaratri:

MahaShivratri is considered as the symbol of the wedding ceremony day of Supreme Lord Shiva and his Supreme Consort Goddess Parvati devi and the day that Lord Shiva danced to "Rudra Thandava", the representation of creation, protection and destruction.

According to Shiva/ Linga Purana, it is said that the Maha Shivratri Day celebrates the manifestation of Lord Shiva in the form of Lingam.

Significance of Rudrabishekam:

Rudrabishekam is a custom which involves pouring tender coconut water, milk, ghee, honey, flowers, Tulsi or bilva leaves, etc., on a Shiva lingam with continuous chanting of Vedic mantras to appease Lord Shiva and get his powerful blessings.

Rudrabishekam is done by invoking Lord Shiva in the form of Rudra and it is consider as a very propitious ritual to get rid of evil spirits and to achieve all good desires in life.

The main aim of conducting Rudrabhishekam on the auspicious day of MahaShivratri is to wash away one's sins and overcome hurdles for living a peaceful, wealthy and successful life.

Significance of Rudra-Trishati:

Rudra-Trishati Homam is performed during special worship of Lord Shiva. The RudraTrishati is the holy chanting of the Lord Rudra (Shiva). RudraTrishakthi is chanted after performing Rudrabhishekam. It is said that this is the namavali form of addressing the Lord in all of the Vedas.  Rudra-Trishati uses the verses of the Sri Rudram in a different form. It is a part of the mahanyasam as well.

   1.Chant -- OM NAMASHIHAYA?for 1008 times. This Night is very special to get thousand-fold boons from Lord Shiva

   2.Do Meditation after chanting the mantra. Focus on Sahasrara Chakra. If you are a Kundalini yoga practitioner, raise your Kundalini Shakthi to get re-united with Lord Shiva in Sahasrara.

   3.Go to any Siva Temple after Vedicfolks Rituals i.e after 3 AM IST or Just focus on Thillai Nataraja while we perform Puja in behalf of you.
