Sri Brahma Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu located in Kumbakonam, Tamilnadu. The temple is around 500 years old. Lord Brahma occupies the shrine adjacent to the sanctorum on the right. The temple presents Lord Brahma in a four face posture appearance, the front face and the adjoining two faces are open to devotees, however, the back face is of a female depiction. Open the devotees on a special request with priest to uncover the mirror.
Lord Brahma is consorts with the idols of Goddess Saraswati (Goddess of Knowledge) and Gayatri (personified form of Goddess Gayatri mantra). At the left side of the sanctum is the shrine of Lord Narasimha consorts by Sridevi and Goddess Bhoodevi. Brahma Sankalp Pooja is the most popular event performed at the temple. Lord Brahma and Goddess Saraswati are especially worshipped by devotees for success and prosperity before their kids while begin their education. This temple is a revered pilgrimage spot and getting the blessings of Lord Shiva.
Sri Brahma temple is also known as Sri Vedanarayana Perumal. The main deities in this temple are Lord Brahma, Lord Vedhanaraya Perumal, Lord Narasimha moorthy, Lord Elumalayaan Srinivasa Perumal and Goddess Aandaal. There are three sanctorum in the temple, the one for Lord Brahmma with his consorts Goddess Saraswati and Goddess Gayatri in a standing posture to seek bleesings of Lord Vedanarayana Perumal, second of Lord Veda Narayana Perumal accompained by his consorts with Goddess Sridevi and Goddess Bhoomadevi, and the third is Lord Yoga Narasimha with his two consorts. Thus, the devotee have the darshan of this supreme in this temple.
The temple conducts the important pujas on Brahma Sankalpa Puja , For educational and trade progress boons. Devotees perform special pujas for Lord Brahma and Goddess Saraswati and Goddess Gayatri before admitting children to school.
Auspicious Festival Saraswati Puja and Vaikunta Ekadasi are celebrated in this temple.
