Appakkudathaan Perumal Temple or Thirupper Nagar, is a Hindu temple located in Koviladi, a village 10 miles (16 km) from Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu, India.
It is dedicated to Vishnu and is one of the Divya Desams the 108 temples of Vishnu revered in Nalayira Divya Prabandham by the 12 poet saints or Alwars.
This temple is located along the banks of the Kollidam River and is one of the five Pancharanga Kshetrams located on the banks of the Cauvery River.The temple is believed to be of significant antiquity, with contributions at different times from the Medieval Cholas.
The temple is built on an elevated structure and is approached through a flight of 21 steps. The rajagopuram (the main gateway) has three tiers and the temple has a precinct around the sanctum.
The temple priests perform the pooja (rituals) every day, including festivals. Like other Vishnu temples of Tamil Nadu, the priests belong to the Vaishnavaitecommunity, a Brahmin sub-caste.

It is believed that Appaala Ranganathar measured the steps for Srirangam Ranganathar and hence the name Kovil - Adi named for this temple. As far as Sree Vaishnavas are concerned Kovil means only Srirangam for them among all their temples of Lord Vishnu.
This Divya Desam is also worshipped as Thirupper Nagar which is located in the outskirts of Trichy around 25 KM and about just 5 KM from Thiru Anbil Divyadesam. This place is also worshipped as Indragiri and Palaasavanam.
Koviladi Divyadesam is situated on a small hillock, named Indragiri and is easily accessible. The Presiding Deity is Appamkudatthaan in his Reclining Posture Holding a Pot in one Hand. Thayar is being blessing Indhra Devi and also as Kamalavalli Thayar.
