Indraksh Shakthi Peetha is Located 36 km from the ancient capital of the Jaffna kingdom, Nallur. The murti of the Goddess is believed to have been consecrated and worshipped by Lord Indra.

Vishnu took his bow and cut the body of Sati into fifty-one pieces with his arrows. And wherever a piece of the Divine Mothers body fell on earth, that place became a Shakti Peetha.

Devi's anklet (Nupur) fell here. Devi is known as Maa Indrakshi and Lord Shiva is known as Rakshaseshwar. Indrakshi Shaktipeeth is located at Kandy region of Sri Lanka.

This place is known as Maa Indrakshi or Aindri Shaktipeeth. Those who pray and devote to this Shaktipeeth, attain Siddhi of Suryamantras.

  • Do deposit your offerings in the hundi only.

  • Do not smoke at Temple.
  • Do not consume alcoholic drinks at Temple.
  • Do not eat non-vegetarian food in the Kshetram.
  • Do not approach mediators for quick Darshanam. It may cause inconvenient to others.
  • Do not carry any weapon inside the temple.
  • Do not wear any head guards like helmets, caps, turbans and hats inside the temple premises.
  • Do not perform Sastanga Pranama inside the Sanctum Sanctorum.
  • Do not take much time while performing Sparsa Darshanam to God in Garbhagriha.
  • Do not buy spurious prasadams from street vendors.
  • Do not encourage beggars at Temple.
  • Do not spit or create nuisance in the premises of the temple.
