Kumaran Kundram is located in Chrompet, Chennai, a hill rock dedicated to Lord Muruga in the form of Lord Kumaran, is a similar shrine located in "Swamimalai", is a cultural and religious heritage with music, dance and discourses held at the famous hall "Arunagirinathar". The temple is filled with auspicious Puja and Rituals worshiped by devotees, solving marriage obstacles, overcome debts, emotional, feeling guilty, bless devotees with Positivity's of Life, wealth and prosperity. Kumaran Kundram temple is a popular pilgrimage destination as a temple dedicated to Lord Muruga in the form of Lord Swaminatha Swami is located on this hilltop. Main deity of this temple is Lord Vishnu, Goddess Devi, Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesha, and Lord Navagrahas are also present in the temple.
The hilltop was spotted by Kanchi Mahaswamigal who prophesied was place would be known as the abode of Swaminatha Swamy, while clearing the hillock a Vel was found in the temple. Being the weapon of Lord Muruga, this Vel was placed and worshipped at a small make shift shrine. The temple was built in 1979.
Auspicious Vaikasi Visaakam in the month(June), Kanda Sashti in the month(March- April), Thai Pusam in the month(Feb), Panguni Uthiram in the month(April) are the festival celebrated in this temple.
