Nishkalangeshwar Mahadev temple is located inside the Arabian sea near Bhava Nagar, Gujarat. This Shiva temple is about 1.5 kilometers into the sea. In this historic place, Pandavas, the heroic brothers worshipped the lingas that are symbolic of Lord Shiva after the fierce battle in which they killed their cousins kauravas as narrated in the epic Mahabharat. The legend says, they established 5 Shiva Lingas at this place and prayed to Lord Shiva to remove all their sins. During normal times, the temple gets drowned in the sea water, only the flags on the top of the temple are visible. The pillar of the temple is of 20 ft height. During normal hours sea water level reaches till the top of the pillar. Devotees visit this temple from afternoon 1 PM till night 10 o' clock. Again after 10 PM the temple will get drowned in the sea water. Devotees offer prayers with the combined blessing bestowed with enormous wealth, peace, harmony and never ending prosperity, eliminating all bad and evil effects and negativeness from planetary positioning, disease free life and bondage's.

The temple in the present context is the Nishkalank Mahadev Temple, which is located in Bhavnagar and is completely submerged during high tides in the sea and emerges during low tides. It promises the devotees a chance to wash away all their sins, in the same way the Pandavas were forgiven for the sin of killing their cousins. The temple is having 5 distinct Swayambhu Shiva lingas (Self Incarnated Lingas) inside it to which Pandava brothers worshipped, and each is having a Nandhi or Bull (Shiva’s vehicle) facing it, spread across a square platform. Devotees first wash their hands and legs in a pond called Pandavas pond, upon reaching the temple and only then they visit these shrines. The sea withdrews its water levels all days, and creates paving way for the devotees to offer their prayers.
