This Sivastalam is located near Kodumudi in Kongunadu and is believed to be one of the "sikarams" "peaks" of Kailash. Severalliterary works praise the glory of this temple. Paandikkodumudi Temple is the 6th of the 7 Tevara Stalams in the Kongu Region of Tamilnadu.

This is a vast temple with grand shrines to Kodumudi nathar, Vadivudaiammai and Perumaal and Taayaar. This temple has three entrances leading to the three shrines. Kunchitapaada Natarajar has both his feet on the ground, in contrast to the raised left foot.

The temple has separate theerthams named as Bharadhwaja Theertham, Brahma Theertham, Deva Theertham and Kavery Theertham. Lord Magudeshwarar is called by various names as Paandi Kodumudi Nathar, Malaikozhundheesar, Magudalingar, Kodumudeshwarar, etc. the sacred tree of this temple is the Vanni Tree (It is said to be 3000 years old and its leaves are using in kavadi theertham).




Sri Kodumudi Nathar Temple is located at  kodumudi in Karur . This holy temple is one among 275 Shiva Sthalams and is dedicated to Lord Siva.

This temple is a thrimoorthi temple and so containing the deities of brahma, vishnu, siva the name of lord sivaperuman in this temple is magudeshwara, the goddess part is soundhranayaki. lord brahma of this temple has no goddess part.

The name of mahavishnu in this temple is veeranarayanaperumal with the goddess part thirumangai nachiyar. lord sivaperuman of destructive duty, vishnu of protective duty and brahma of creative duty are the trinity of hindu spirituality system. This sthalam is fullfilled with three main features.

Agasthyar also worshipped here. In a test of strength between Adiseshan and Vayu, the five gems from the head of Adisesha were scattered.  A red stone landed at Tiruvannamalai, an emerald at Eengoimalai, a blue diamond at Potikai, a manikkam at Vaatpoki and a diamond here. The Vinayakar here is called Kaviri Kanda Vinayakar.
