Sri Moozhikkalathaan Perumal Temple is one of the Divya Desams, the 108 temples of Vishnu Believed to have been visited by the 1 poet saints or Alwars.

This Temple is located at Thirumoozhikkalam,kottayam district in Kerala.Sri Moozhikkalathaan Perumal is vast an inspiring edifice.The main Deity of sri Moozhikkalathaan Perumal is Thirumoozhikkalathaan and Madhuraveni Naachiyaar.

In this sthalam, there is no separate sannadhi for Thaayar. Only, Bhagavadhi Amman sannadhi is found. Near to this sthalam, the Aalvaai river is found.

The speciality of this sthalam is during the time of pooja done for the perumal, there is no music instrument are played. It is said that all the temple's Gopuram, Mandapan and pragharam of this sthalam are built by Lakshmanan (brother of Sri Ramar) and he did various service to this temple.

During Ramayana, on hearing that Sri Ramar had been sent to the forest, Bharadan went in search of him to return him to Ayodhya for doing Pattabishekam for him.

On seeing Bharadan coming from Ayodhya, Lakshmanan got angry with him and tried to kill him. Since, because of this bad thought and sinful act, to get out the sin, Lakshmanan served and got the seva of this sthala Emperumaan, Moozhikkalathaan.

He is found in Nindra thirukkolam facing his thirumugham along the Eastern direction. Prathyaksham for Aareetha Maharishi.The Thaayar of this sthalam is Madhuraveni Naachiyaar.

Sri Imayavarappa Perumal vimanam is Soundarya Vimanam,The Theertham provided by this Temple is Sanga Theertham. Thiru Sangu is the Hamsam of Bharadhan, brother of Sri Ramar and since Bharadhan stood as an help for Lakshmanan to get out his sin, the pushkarani is Sanga Theertham.
