A guru means one who enlightens us and removes ignorance. So any one who helps us to conquer our ignorance and feeds us with knowledge can be termed as a guru.God does not give what the guru bestows, when god bestows he does so through the form of the guru.

He is more loving than the mother. Even if you have wealth there is a chance of becoming poorer, even if you are supplied with plenty of food you become hungry after some time, there is always want and need, there is, but the great knowledge and wisdom bestowed upon you by a Guru never disappears. It is indestructible and permanent as per the Vedas.

Our ancestors have said that if one does not have the blessings of a spiritual guru one dose not receive the favour and blessings of the great Lord God. He appears in the form of great siddhars to destroy Adharma and establish Dharma and peace.

There have been many great souls who have appeared on this earth to correct and reform erring mankind.The philosophy of a Preceptor or Guru is greater than Sadhasiva. Certain unpleasant events leading to anger can be protected by Guru, but there is no redemption for a person who instigates the anger of a Guru. The Guru has been mentioned as the next to be obligated after the mother and father.


Mylai Guruji has had the distinction of having performed Ashtabandhana Maha Kumbabishekams for more than 3000 temples. Even at his ripe old age, in his late eighties, he had helped solve the problems of his devotees, irrespective of their financial status.

Inspite of his failing health he had performed near miracles with great strength of mind and spiritual power. He had cured the illness of many people with is healing touch.

Attributed to Guruji's great maxim "Irunthum Illamal Iru" even if you possess all wealth and prosperity live a humble and sincere life, sharing your wealth with others who are deserving and lead a calm and peaceful life.

Here poojas, with special chanting are conducted on Friday, New moon and Full moon day and on the day of Thiruvonam. Star with great sanctity and fervor to the great amazement and wonder of the congregation.

The devotees and disciples at Guruji appa's ashram conduct the daily prayer in the manner of seasoned vedic scholars with chanting of mantras and slokas and perform pooja with proper rituals and austerities to the great wonder of all the bhakthas who visit the ashram during these special poojas.

  • Do Contact Temple Devasthanam information center for inquiry ,temple information and for pooja details etc.
  • Do reserve your travel and accommodation at temple well in advance.
  • Do bath and wear clean clothes before you enter the temple
  • Do concentrate on God and Goddess inside the temple.
  • Do maintain silence and recite your Istamantram to yourself inside the temple.
  • Do observe ancient custom and traditions while in Temple.
  • Do deposit your offerings in the hundi only

  • Do not come to Temple for any Purpose other than worshiping of God and Goddess
  • Do not smoke at Temple.
  • Do not consume alcoholic drinks at Temple
  • Do not Eat Non Vegetarian food in the Kshetram
  • Do not approach mediators for quick Dharshanam. It may cause inconvenient to others
  • Do not carry any weapon inside the temple
  • Do not wear any head guards like helmets ,caps ,turbans and hats inside the temple premises
