On this day, Lord Vamana, the fifth incarnation of Maha Vishnu is worshipped with total devotion. The word Varuthini means protected and it is believed that a devotee who worships the lord on this day will be protected from all evils and blessed with plenty of wealth and fortune. The day has plenty of benefits including that of absolving sins and Moksha (freedom from continuous cycle of re-birth). One achieves name, fame and prosperity as well on this day. This year it falls on April 18 and Vedicfolks will organise the Maha Narayana Upanishad Homam on the day.

Get Fame, Wealth in All Forms, Attain Moksha, Absolve Sins with Atharvana Mahanarayana Upanishad Puja/Homam
The transition from absolute transcendence of the godhead to physical manifestation begins with the Highest Brahman, Vasudeva whose nature comprises of sat (existence), cit (consciousness), ananda (bliss), ananta (eternality) and amalam (impeccability). These sadgunas or virtues together form the body of the Supreme Being who gets the name Vasudeva who is the all-pervading Lord Krishna.
The Mahanarayana Upanishad is part of the Atharva Veda and it glorifies Lord Vishnu in his highest aspect as the supreme lord and creator of the universe. It depicts him as the creator and enlightens us about what the mantra ‘Aum Namo Narayana’ is all about. He who utters this verse attains full life without blemish, attains salvation and is blessed with lots of wealth in all forms. A verse from the Mahanarayana Upanishad says that ‘Narayanaya Vidmahe Vasudevaya Dhimahi Thanno Vishnu Prachodayat’ and translates, ‘we endeavour to know Narayana, we meditate on Vasudeva and Vishnu bestows his wisdom on us.’ In a way it reveals that all three forms are tantamount.
